The Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics committee planned to file a lawsuit alleging that foreign payments were made to the president's hotels and other businesses. They claim Trump has and is breaking the Emoluments Clause of the U.S. Constitution. The Emoluments Clause forbids government officials from accepting payments and gifts from foreign governments.
