Donald Trump agreed to shut down the Trump Foundation in order to settle a lawsuit filed by the New York Attorney General's office. The foundation has been accused of being "little more than a checkbook to serve Mr. Trump’s business and political interests," according to New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood. In the agreement, Trump agreed to dissolve the "charity" under judicial supervision and he, his sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric, and his daughter Ivanka will be prohibited from serving on the boards of any charities in the state of New York.
