Donald Trump ordered border agents to turn away asylum seekers at the southern border, which is in violation of federal immigration law. Trump reportedly told the agents to tell the asylum seekers that "we don't have the capacity" for them and to tell a judge who questions why they violated the law "[S]orry, judge, I can't do it. We don't have the room." The agents were then told after Trump left that they must enforce the law and that any border agent who followed through on Trump's order would be held personally liable.
