Christine Blasey Ford accused Trump's Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault. Ford did not immediately report the alleged attack she said occurred at a high school party in the 1980s. Ford said that a drunk, teenage Brett M. Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her. She said she was fearful that he “might inadvertently kill her." Ford's accusation came around the time Kavanaugh's confirmation hearings were proceeding, which were halted, due to the accusation made by Ford. Trump went to twitter to defend his nominee and to accuse left wing politicians of wanting to "destroy and delay." In one particular tweet, he questioned why Ford hadn't reported the alleged assault decades before. His tweets incited harsh criticism from victims of rape and sexual assault. Many of them responded on twitter with their personal stories as well as explained why it is hard for victims of sexual violence to come forward right after the incidents happen, as well as how difficult it is to prosecute afterward.
