In an interview with TIME magazine, President Trump talked about his confusion and disdain for Navy aircraft carriers switching from steam powered catapult systems to a newer digital launching system. When Trump learned the USS Ford was staying with the digital tech, he said: "I said no you’re not. You going to goddamned steam, the digital costs hundreds of millions of dollars more money and it’s no good." Several reports show steam is more expensive to maintain and the new tech would end up saving the Navy billions in the long run.
