After citing that Andrew Jackson, who died more than a decade before the war started, was angry about what was going on, Trump questioned the need for the war at all: “People don’t realize, you know, the Civil War, you think about it: Why? People don’t ask that question, but why was there the Civil War? Why could that one not be worked out?”.
