Donald Trump is appointing his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, to be Senior Adviser to the President. Kushner was very influential in the presidential campaign and continued to play a large role in Trump's transition into the White House. Though the appointment brings up a number of ethical and legal issues. Foremost being the 1967 anti-nepotism law that prohibits federal officials from appointing their civilian relatives to government positions in agencies they oversee. On top of that, there are many conflict of interest issues regarding Trump's real estate empire.
