In a closed door meeting with Evangelical leaders, President Trump claimed to have gotten "rid" of the Johnson Amendment, which forbids religious organizations and charities from formally endorsing candidates if they want to maintain their federal tax exemption. The law Trump claimed to have killed, remains on the books after congress failed to kill it in 2017.
