Donald Trump threatened to withdraw American troops from South Korea because he's unhappy with the trade imbalance between the two countries. Trump accused South Korea of "not caring about" the United States and only caring about themselves. He made the threat during a closed door speech at a Missouri fundraiser, audio of which was leaked to the press.
Quote | This comes at the same time Trump is threatening war with North Korea.
"We have a very big trade deficit with them [South Korea], and we protect them," Trump said. "We lose money on trade, and we lose money on the military."
"We have right now 32,000 soldiers on the border between North and South Korea. Let's see what happens," Trump said.
The President went on to argue, "Our allies care about themselves. They don't care about us."
