About: Japan
In a tirade pointed at the trade deficit with Japan, Trump referenced Pearl Harbor. The incident happened during a phone call in June with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. The reference was heard by other participants of the phone call. Trump apparently became angry while speaking with the prime minister. He was specifically angry about how Japanese citizens weren't buying as many US goods, as the US citizens are buying Japanese goods.Trump couldn't have been referring to his own recollection because he was born in 1946, 5 years after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
