Donald Trump directed his then personal attorney Michael Cohen to pay John Gauger, owner of RedFinch Solutions LLC to rig 2016 election polls in Trump's favor just as he entered the contest. Cohen admitted to, at the direction of Trump, giving Gauger up to $50,000 to rig the polls to make Trump appear to be more popular than he actually was. Rudy Giuliani, Donald Trump's personal lawyer, attacked Cohen integrity, but did not dispute the reporting.
