About: Michael Cohen & Laws & Crime
Donald Trump unwittingly admitted to violating campaign finance laws by falsely claiming that the crimes his personal lawyer plead guilty to aren't campaign violations. It is illegal to make an excessive campaign contribution without reporting it and it is illegal to give a corporate contribution to third parties without reporting it. What Trump is claiming is that it's not a campaign violation because the money came from Trump personally and not the campaign, but that doesn't actually matter in the eyes of the law.

They didn't come out of the campaign, they came from me," Trump said to Fox & Friend's Ainsley Earhardt... "They didn't come out of the campaign and that's big. It's not even a campaign violation."
