In an interview with Bloomberg, President Trump took undeserved credit for saving the Pentagon $725 million off the price of F-35 fighter jets from Lockhead Martin: "The F-35 fighter jet -- I saved -- I got involved in the negotiation. It’s 2,500 jets. I negotiated for 90 planes, lot 10 (ph). I got $725 million off the price." The Pentagon had already announced cost reductions of $600 million before Trump began meeting with Lockhead Martin.
