Donald Trump took credit for a veterans healthcare law passed by Congress and signed into law by President Obama back in 2014, falsely claiming that he and Republicans passed a law that will give veterans a choice to seek medical treatment in facilities not operated by the VA. The truth is that Congress passed the Veterans Choice Act back in 2014, when Barack Obama was President. The updated version of the law attempted to fix some glitches in the original legislation and was passed with overwhelming bipartisan support.
